The Balkan Universities Association (BUA) is an association of universities and is open to other universities in the Balkan Area. The BUA is registered as a nongovernmental association. SMURBS, via its partner AUTH [The Laboratory of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing of the Department of Surveying Engineering  (PersLab)] participated in BUA 2019 Conference, held Thessaloniki- Greece, 16-18 April 2019, with a submitted paper on topic of “Sustainable Development-Earth Observation Data – Societal Benefit Areas” .  PersLab’s Director, Prof. Petros Patias presented “The use of Earth Observation data in support to UN Sustainable Goals” and disseminate the research activities of the relevant ongoing research projects under ERA-PLANET.
