SRI Settlement Layer Validation Methodology

Provides:

  • Support for stakeholders, city administrations, and other relevant users
  • Opportunities for insights and spatial identification of areas requiring further investigation at the city level

Makes use of: Satellites, in-situ data

Smart features:

  • The solution is based on known standards in the area of geospatial data and product validation (like GEOSS JECAM), state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, data fusion approaches, and methods of computational (geospatial) mathematics.
  • Product’s development is based on open-source and free software and can be used for information visualization, dissemination, and embedding into other portals and systems.
  •  The solution is based on GHSL Copernicus service and results of the comparison with land cover classification maps with 10 m spatial resolution, which has been built on the base of local ground truth data and Global Forest Change layer.
