Urban air quality degradation related to peri-urban wildfire events were thoroughly discussed during the interview of Dr. Evangelos Gerasopoulos, SMURBS’ coordinator, at the ECOTEC journal. The journal targets, among others, towards local administration, informing them about new tools to combat real world problems. SMURBS solutions on the prevention, monitoring, response and management of natural and human induced disasters were also examined under the prism of climate change and its impacts.
